The Book Donation Initiative is a student run school club aimed at collecting and recycling pre-loved story books only to  spread the joy of reading in less privileged communities. The collections are used for replenishing existing libraries and sold during ‘Used Book Sales’ in school to raise funds for new libraries and school charities.

Earth for us to Educate

BDI at work

The team meets every Thursday after school to plan the book drives, book sales, partnerships and donations. BDI has donated books to private and public libraries -

Resettlement Colony

Book Donation Drives

Book Donation Drives are held in school. The entire school supports the drive and donates their used story books. Through social media BDI also received used books from by communities outside the school.

Used Book Sales

Used Book Sales are held in school during International Day, Diwali Fest, Parent Teacher Conference of Primary School and more such occasions. The collections are donated to school out-reach programs and school charities.

3500+ Books donated to 6 New Delhi Municipal Corporation Public Libraries in Delhi

Books donated to Baroda Central (Public) Library, Gujrat. The library has limited resources, and was delighted as it to receive so many books, the readers were happy to see the new collection

950+ BOOKS

BDI donated to Happy Children's Library, Seem Village, Nainital, UP. It caters to 5 villages around it and has 200 children coming to the library. The library was founded by Jaya Shah as a gift to her village. Jaya, holds reading classes and more for the 200 students.

1600+ Books donated for 80+ Teach For India supported Government School Classroom Libraries in Delhi (NCR)
