ANAND KRISHNA GOYAL
I am Anand Krishna Goyal, student of The British School, New Delhi, my passion to spread the joy of reading and my interactions with the low income group school children from a young age lead to the creation of the Initiative - 'Pustakalaya'.
I started informally in grade 3 with ‘Used Book Sales’ that sold pre-loved books and the collections were used for charities.
By grade 9 I was able to create 12 libraries in the NDMC Primary Schools in partnership with Angelique Foundation. I enjoyed reading aloud and dramatization of stories in these libraries.
Walking alone is limiting, and therefore by grade 11 I had started giving presentations in various schools to raise volunteers and motivate students to create libraries as an out-reach program. Recently, developed ‘Pustakalaya’ APP that will connect volunteers interested in conducting reading workshops to our existing libraries.
I feel the success of our initiative as student beneficiaries create libraries in their homes for their neighborhood, I support them by donating a set of 100 books.
In school I started a club - Book Donation Initiative. The aim is to collect used story books from the students only to replenish exiting libraries or sell them cheap to collect funds for school charities.
Being a science student and working intensively for many years with the low income community has lead to an innovation - PowerCycle. I would like to share my academic side with you too through my website www.powercyle.in

Vandana Pandey Specializes in handling trauma through drama. She conducts student workshops in the libraries to create a love for stories and helps in understanding the needs of the beneficiaries.
